Sanuki Udon @ Taman Desa

Been reading on this place for a while and finally got a chance to drop by for a bite of udon. Apparently the popular item here is the fried vege (karaakage) udon and not so good ones are the curry udon.

GPS location:3.110655,101.6826619

Parking is aplenty in front of the location, so pick your choice of shady parking lot if available.

Some tables at front door, probably cater for smokers but didn't see any smoking customers.

Oil chili, dry chili and soy sauce for you to add. The oil chili is really spicy.

It's a tiny shop with one row of tables, ordering is via Old town tick a paper menu style. The idea is to pick your udon type - with curry, with soup, dry with runny poached egg or fried tempura then order some sides to go with your udon.

Our basic orders of house special, wakame noodle & standard soup udon. Soup is not bad, minimal MSG trace in it & abit on bland side for me since i'm not really a soup person except for spicy & tomyam :p

The house special, actually it reminds me of kin kin pan mee minus the chilli. It's a bit on dry side and am not sure what to expect really. My judgement is biased and discriminated on this scale LOL and only proves that i'm not an udon person. The chilli added didn't salvage any bonus points to this as well, and i can't point out what's really special about udon for a spicy noodle lover here...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wakame udon soup. To point out the obvious, add with wakame

Normal udon soup with vege - is normal lo

Karaage (i think) aka fried chicken, @ RM5.50 per plate. Expensive 3 lil pieces of soft yet well marinated & fried chicken. Nice but on a more expensive side. It's basically boneless or fried till you can eat the most of small pieces of bones but still retain it's lightly fried texture. Am i making any sense here?? haha

Dashi tofu, or something like that @ RM3.50 per plate. I kinda like the flour made skin that covers the tofu, but waifu dun really like even though tofu is her favorite in food domain haha, again- personal preference.

Homemade croquette, it's a bit different from menu pic thought @ RM3.50 per plate for 3 pieces. Consists of mainly potato and some mixed vege, just normal la.

Total meal costs RM34 for 3 person and 3 side dishes. Well, to put it simply if you don't really know how to appreciate udon, then you will feel like what i feel - meh, not that special after all the hype created in online blogs/food articles ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
